Family-owned husky farm founded in the early 2000s, sitting about a 30-minute drive from Rovaniemi city centre, in the village of Sinettä. Bearhill built its reputation by inverting the usual safari formula: dogs first, tourists second. They publish their welfare standards openly, run a structured retirement programme for older huskies, and partner with on-call veterinary care year-round.
Smaller groups than the chain operators, lower dog-to-musher ratio, and a clear preference for longer rides over high-volume short loops. The "Happy Trail" 2.5-hour family run is the most-booked tour, but the three-hour, adults-only Northern Exposure is what regulars come back for.

Husky park built directly inside Santa Claus Village, which makes it the easiest add-on for a family already crossing the Arctic Circle line. They run nearly year-round (May is the off month), swapping sleds for wheeled carts in summer so visitors outside snow season can still experience a husky team in motion.
Programmes scale from 1-hour tasters to full-day safaris, and the puppy kindergarten kennel visits are open between runs. More commercial than the wilderness kennels, but the briefings are thorough and the staff handle nervous children well.

Owner-run boutique operator built around a single principle: keep the group small. It caps every safari at eight guests, well below the regional average, so the guide actually has time to coach each rider on the brake, the corners, and team spacing.

Wilderness kennel on the national park boundary
Kennel founded in 1993 in the village of Rauhala in Kittilä, right on the boundary of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park and about 45 minutes from Kittilä airport. After the long-time founder retired in 2024, new owners who guide the tours themselves took over, and tours still leave from the same yard onto the national park trails.
Groups are capped at six guests, and the main event is a genuine multi-day expedition in the national park: nights in wilderness huts, your own team the whole way. Day tours cover the same trails in lighter form, and the Madejärvi wilderness cabin can be rented as a base.
Established in the 1980s, Lapland Safaris is the closest thing Finnish Lapland has to a flagship adventure-tour brand. Operates husky bases across Lapland: at Levi, Rovaniemi, Saariselkä, Ylläs and Luosto, with capacity for hundred-guest days during peak Christmas and February weeks.

More remote and wild than Rovaniemi, this area around Muonio offers some of the best multi-day husky expeditions in all of Lapland. True wilderness awaits.
Harriniva is one of Lapland's heritage names, a family-owned outdoors business that started as a riverside campsite on the Muonio river in 1973 and added the husky kennel some three decades ago. The resort layout (hotel rooms, restaurant, smoke sauna and conference building all within walking distance of the kennel) is unusual in the region.
